The property supplies itself entirely.
This is not a sustainability gesture but a necessity that turned into a quality: if you farm in the Kaan river valley, you cannot wait for deliveries.
- Power
- Entirely from the farm’s own photovoltaic systems.
- Water
- Drinking water from the farm’s own groundwater source with eight access points. Three of them supply the troughs.
- Kitchen
- Meat, vegetables and fruit from our own production. Only individual products are bought in, coffee for instance.
- School
- A school for staff and their children is currently being built on the farm.
What lives here
The aim of the farm’s management is the richest possible variety of wildlife. Waterholes, grazing areas, feeding places and salt licks supplement nature.
Documented on the farm: a rare breeding pair of black eagles with young, black stork, grey heron, various raptors, francolin and guineafowl.
Nyala, lechwe, caracal and leopard draw their tracks in the sand.
