At the centre
The hunting ground is not fenced. Game comes and goes as it pleases — and the population grows because the farm tends it.
The hunt is on foot, in the rough terrain of the Kaan river valley: stalks through gorges, over rock, along the dry riverbeds. Because the ground is open, no fence decides how a day ends — wind, spoor and patience do. Waterholes, grazing areas, feeding and salt licks supplement what nature provides; the aim is the richest possible variety of wildlife.
Western saddle, riverbeds and mountains

The rides follow the riverbeds and climb into the high mountains. Along the way the riding guide explains what stands, crosses and flies beside the trail — and how life works out here. For many guests this is the route on which they first really see the farm.
On foot through gorges and over ridges
Rocky gorges, dry riverbeds, ancient camel thorn trees.
The farm lies at around 1,100 metres in the Kaan river valley, near the Erongo boundary. On foot you pass camel thorn and anna trees older than any farm history here, and end up above an expanse you cannot grasp from a vehicle.
Out into the highland while the light holds
Out into the Khomas Highland, when the light is at its best.
Drives through the highland to watch game — and, in the late afternoon, out to where the sun goes down behind the ridges. In that hour the landscape changes colour every half minute.
Waterhole, light and whatever comes of its own accord

The waterholes are fed from the farm's own groundwater source — three of its eight access points supply the troughs. Documented on the farm: a rare breeding pair of black eagles with young, black stork, grey heron, various raptors, francolin and guineafowl. Nyala, lechwe, caracal and leopard draw their tracks in the sand.

Between the ridges of the highland both last longer than elsewhere, and they colour rock, grass and dust differently. Nothing is required of you but to stay.
